The Bellamy Factor!
Craig Bellamy – My New Hero!

Once described by Sir Bobby Robson as ‘a man who could start a fight in an empty room’ controversy has always followed Bellamy, but such is his effect on the pitch that Manchester City paid an estimated £14 million to West Ham United in order to acquire his fiery talents in January 2009.
Along with Ched Evans, Bellamy is my hero! Since coming to City he has bamboozled defenders with his blistering pace which makes defenders sweat like Geordies in a maths test! He is the player City needed to boost our recent revolution. He can play on the right hand side of midfield, behind a striker or as a lone man up front. PERFECT!
A victim of ‘Rafa’s rotation policy’ during his time at Anfield, Craig was keen to play as much football as possible and moved to join West Ham United for £7.5m in July 2007, stating: “It was important for me to start playing regular football.
“I could sit at Liverpool as a squad player all day long, picking up my money, playing every now and then, but I’d be cheating myself and my personality.”

Hughes loves players that will work their tails off, both in training and on the pitch. Bellamy certainly has that work ethic. Bellamy also has sharp pace, there is no doubt! City lack pace up top for the most part. Nery Castillo showed he had pace to burn last year but had no “touch” with the ball, so was rendered ineffective, and rightly so. His pace makes him dangerous. Teams already know that and will try and respect that. In theory, it should help create space for others to create and attack.
Bellamy might not be a maestro up top compared to the likes of Torres e.t.c., but he can finish nicely with good service from his midfield and wide defenders, namely SWP, Superman, Zabaleta and Bridge. Our current team is supplying good service to the strikers so here is a chance to take advantage of that. If the service to him is quality (i.e. from Superman), he should capitalise and I have every faith he will.
Jo looks the part on YouTube, I can’t understand what has happened there, so hopefully Bellamy is the ideal replacement.

Absolute flop…disaster!
My only worry is as follows;
For a game or two he’s superb, and then…he’s on the injury list for the next six weeks. I won’t even bother mentioning his habit of ignoring teammates who might be in a better scoring position (although I’m not too fussed about that as he seems to be a good finisher!) He has his critic and they say he must be a fun guy to play with…as long as you don’t find yourself on the wrong end of a golf club (remember John Arne Riise a couple of years ago?) or don’t mind constant whining on the pitch (and I’d imagine it’d only be worse in the dressing room with Robinho!).
Some believe that West Ham are the winners here…my opinion…no chance! HE’S BLLOMING BRILLIANT! ISTANBUL WE ARE COMING!

Hahaha!
‘Sweat like Geordies in a maths test’ Legendary!
Nice work Matt!
Cheers Rish!
Nice article Matt, very impressed for a first effort. The pictures don’t show for me though, is that just me or everyone? Still, who’d you rather have, Bellamy or Beattie? (£14m or £3.5m)
I’d have Bellamy any day!
I’d even be bold enough to say that i would add the money we spent on Jo(ke) and add it on to the money spent on Bellamy and we still would gave under spent. We have ripped off West Ham here!
VJ, thank you very much for your comment! For some reason, I can only see the first 3 pictures, not sure about everyone else?
I gave it my best shot, for a first time, not too bad!
4 lots of James Beattie is very tempting and would prefer them to Bellamy I must admit!
Cheers,
Matt
Ricky, great to hear from you!
I agree, Jo is…terrible and Bellamy has impressed me greatly so far this season, shame he has done his knee though?
I think we probably spent the right amount of money and both clubs got a good deal. West Ham got £14m they desperately needed, we got a sublime striker!
What more could anyone else ask for!
Matt,
Well done for your first attempt. Some good personal opinion, mixed in with facts make a very readable and interesting article.
Personally, I can only see the first picture, so don’t know what’s happening there.
Steven, this seems to be a problem for a few!?
I don’t know what has gone on? You will have to help me edit it tomorrow!
No problem, will do
9 comments already, i’m doing well!
Did you pick up my text I sent you?
No, but have been out for the evening, so will put phone on soon. Need to revise Byrne’s vocab, when is it???
Tomorrow, Period 5!
Arrrggghhhhh!
Ahahaha, Matt, just picked up your text!! Well done, you will have to tell me about it all tomorrow!
Told you there would be at least one sending off!
Beattie has five goals and two assists in seven games for Stoke.
I still think any team would be better off with him than Bellamy, just think how many he’d score if he had service from the likes of Ireland and Robinho. That’s why the £10.5 million price difference seems absolutely stupid to me!
Quote Ricky ”We have ripped off West Ham here!” The only teams being ripped off are Sheffield United and you lot (though I suppose you can just about handle that hit on the back pocket.
)
Ahhhh nice to see
Mr. AllweisSteven! has competition!!Nice article Matt, almost as enjoyable as your clinical finish earlier!!
Aahahaa, thanks Plattsy!
Ollie is calling it lucky, I call my goal…MAJESTIC!
What’s your view?!
Matt, take off my surname from Plattsy’s comment please. Plattsy, I’ve told you about that before.
Nice review, but I have to say that Man City have been ripped off big time?!
He may be quick this season but you won’t have him playing well for much longer as he is 29 years old, so he only has a few seasons left in him? We will have to see how well he performs over the seasons, especially as in the summer he will probably be replaced by some superstar like Messi in the summer!
Can someone talk me through this AMAZING GOAL please!!!
Ahahaa, long story, I will let one of my fellow players talk you through the goal, otherwise I may sound boastful!
It wasn’t amazing, just a fantastic finish
Cool I will eagerly wait for the story to be told!!!
I have commented on my west ham wigan review as well but I dont no why i said exactly the same thing so don’t feel like you have to comment on what i said!!
I can’t see the pictures either. However I assume one of those is Jo’s face, so I glad that I don’t have to see that ugly thing!
Jô is the kind of player that we in Brazil just don’t understand how a team pay as much as Manchester City did. Of course he was having great times at CSKA, but in Brazil he was an average player, and as we could not watch his evolution, we still think that he an average player.
But, in the end, being an average player in Brazil is not a good start to your career.
I really hope Bellamy works out for City, and I await in hope of a great team for the future. Good luck! =)
Renato, many thanks for your comment.
Shame you cannot see the pictures, i’m not sure why?!
Yes, fingers crossed this revolution will continue but hopefully we will continue to bring in young players from our academy but also from abroad.
You’re very right, an average player in Brazil just doesn’t make it, although he seems to be doing okay at Everton?!
